OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Dermatology Associates, reported that it was the subject of a ransomware attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of approximately 501 individuals. The PHI involved included clinical, demographic, and financial information. The CE notified HHS, the affected individuals, the media, and provided substitute notice. The CE took several corrective actions in response to the breach, including changing passwords and enhancing security controls. OCR provided technical assistance to the CE.
