Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund d/b/a Tulane University Medical Group

Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund d/b/a Tulane University Medical Group, the covered entity (CE), reported that several employees were the targets of an email phishing scheme that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 6,556 individuals. The PHI involved clinical and demographic information. In its mitigation efforts, the CE revised its policies and procedure regarding the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, trained or retrained its workforce, mailed notification letters to all affected individuals and notified the media. OCR provided technical assistance to the CE.
