OCR description
The covered entity (CE), NYC Health + Hospitals, reported that it was notified by its business associate (BA) that it experienced a hacking attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of approximately 58,778 individuals. The PHI involved demographic and treatment information. The CE notified HHS, the media, and the affected individuals. OCR provided technical assistance to the CE regarding the HIPAA Rules.
