OCR description
Empi Inc., and DJO, LLC, the covered entities (CEs), reported that a laptop computer containing the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of 160,000 individuals was stolen from an employee of its business associate (BA). The ePHI involved included names, Social Security numbers, health and product information, birthdates, and health and auto insurance information. While investigating the breach, the CEs discontinued all services and closed its business.
