OCR description
The covered entity (CE), the University of Maryland Orthopaedic Associates, reported that an employee was the victim of an email phishing scheme affecting the protected health information (PHI) of 1,320 individuals. The PHI disclosed included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, addresses, diagnostic information, lab results, medication information, and treatment information. Following the breach, the CE implemented additional technical safeguards to better protect its sensitive data.
