OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Briggs & Stratton Corporation, experienced a malware attack, which affected the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of approximately 12,789 individuals. The ePHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and clinical information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and posted substitute notice on its website. In response to the breach, the CE implemented additional technical safeguards and retrained its staff.
