OCR description
Rocky Mountain Health Care Services, the covered entity (CE), reported that an employee’s laptop computer which contained the protected health information of 909 individuals was stolen on November 16, 2017. The CE provided breach notification to HHS, the media, and affected individuals. While the breach was under investigation, the CE reported a similar breach to OCR, and OCR has consolidated all issues from this breach into the investigation of the subsequent breach.
