OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Hunt Regional Medical Center, reported that it was notified by the FBI that it was the victim of a cyber-attack involving the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of 323,832 individuals. The ePHI involved included names, birthdates, telephone numbers, Social Security numbers, and other demographic information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. After the breach, the CE implemented additional technical safeguards and retrained its staff.
