Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, the covered entity (CE), reported that an employee impermissibly accessed the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of 584 individuals. The ePHI involved included names, birthdates, diagnoses, treatment information, and medications prescribed. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In its mitigation efforts, the CE sanctioned the responsible employee and revised its policies and procedures. OCR obtained assurances that the covered entity implemented the corrective action noted.
