OCR description
Crossroads Technologies, Inc., a business associate (BA), reported that it was the victim of a ransomware attack that affected the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of 897 individuals. The BA notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. The ePHI involved included names, addresses, and Social Security numbers. In response to the breach, the BA implemented additional technical safeguards, revised its policies and procedures, and retrained staff on the importance of protecting ePHI.
