OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Monroe Surgical Hospital, reported that a vendor of its business associate (BA) was the victim of a cyber-attack. Upon further review, it was determined that the BA and its vendor were not subject to the HIPAA rules since they are not considered a BA in accordance with HIPAA. This case was therefore, closed.
