OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc., reported that its business associate experienced a ransomware attack that affected the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of 23,282 individuals. The ePHI involved included names, dates of birth, and prescription information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and provided substitute notice on its website. OCR provided the CE with technical assistance.
