OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Temple University Hospital, reported that its business associate (BA) was the victim of a ransomware attack that affected the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of approximately 17,041 individuals. The ePHI involved included names, dates of birth, clinical information, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. Following the breach, the CE terminated its business associate agreement with its BA.
