OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Turning Point Clinic, reported that it suffered a cyberattack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 700 individuals. The PHI involved included names, lab results, and medication prescriptions. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional administrative, technical, and security safeguards to better protect its PHI. OCR provided technical assistance to the CE regarding HIPAA Security Rule compliance.
