OCR description
The covered entity (CE), BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy Services, reported that it was the subject of a ransomware attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 348,870 patients. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, diagnoses, medication prescribed, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and provided substitute notice. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to better protect its PHI.
