OCR description
Santa Rosa County District Schools, the covered entity (CE), reported that it experienced a cyber-attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 9,424 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and claims information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional administrative, technical, and security safeguards to better protect its sensitive data. All staff were retrained.
