OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Aetna, reported that a vendor of its business associate experienced a ransomware attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 325,278 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, health insurance information, lab results, medication information, and financial and claims information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media.
