OCR description
The business associate (BA), Reiter Affiliated Companies, LLC, reported that it experienced a cyber-attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 48,000 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, and Social Security numbers. The BA notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and posted substitute notice on its website. In response to the breach, the BA implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards and provided complimentary credit monitoring services to affected individuals.
