OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Urology of Greater Atlanta, reported that it experienced a ransomware attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 79,795 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, drivers’ license and Social Security numbers, financial information, clinical diagnoses, and lab results. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards.
