OCR description
Gateway Rehabilitation Center, the covered entity (CE), reported that it experienced a ransomware attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 119,000 individuals. The PHI involved included names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, financial information, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the incident, Gateway implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to better protect sensitive data.
