OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Mena Regional Health System, reported that it was the victim of a ransomware attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of approximately 84,814 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, drivers’ license numbers, financial and claims information, diagnoses, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to better protect PHI.
