OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Pediatrics West, reported that it experienced a cyber-attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 62,924 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, diagnoses, medications, and health insurance and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and posted substitute notice on its website. In response to the breach, the CE established a toll-free incident response line for questions or concerns. The CE also implemented additional technical safeguards and security measures to protect and monitor its systems.
