OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Texas Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center, reported that it experienced a ransomware attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 1,064 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, drivers’ license numbers, diagnoses, lab results, medications, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. To prevent future similar security incidents, the CE implemented additional administrative, technical, and security safeguards.
