Benefit Administrative Systems, LLC (BAS)

The business associate (BA), Benefit Administrative Systems, LLC, reported that it experienced a data security incident involving its network that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 6,465 individuals. The PHI involved included names and other information. The BA notified affected covered entities of the breach and, on behalf of one covered entity, the BA notified HHS. In response to the breach, the BA implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to better protect PHI.
