OCR description
Aloha Nursing Rehab Centre, the covered entity (CE), reported that it experienced a ransomware attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of approximately 20,216 individuals. The PHI involved included names, Social Security and drivers’ license numbers, addresses, birthdates, financial and claims information, diagnoses, lab results, and medications. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and provided substitute notice. In its mitigation efforts, the CE provided complimentary credit monitoring services and implemented additional technical safeguards to better protect its sensitive data.
