OCR description
Atlantic General Hospital, the covered entity (CE), reported that it experienced a hacking attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 132,817 individuals. The PHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, claims information, laboratory results, and clinical treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In its mitigation efforts, the CE strengthened its technical safeguards to increase its security posture.
