OCR description
Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery, the covered entity (CE), reported that an employee emailed the protected health information (PHI) of 1,085 individuals to the wrong recipient. The PHI involved included names and treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional administrative safeguards to better protect sensitive data. Staff were retrained.
