OCR description
The covered entity (CE), The MetroHealth System, reported that an employee impermissibly accessed the protected health information (PHI) of 1,230 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, medical images, lab results, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS and affected individuals. In response to the breach, the CE sanctioned the employee, implemented additional technical safeguards, and set up a call center for questions or concerns.
