OCR description
The covered entity (CE), The Williamsport Home, reported that its business associate (BA) was the subject of a ransomware attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 3,660 individuals. The PHI involved included names, Social Security and drivers’ license numbers, addresses, dates of birth, diagnoses, lab results, medications, and financial and claims information. The CE notified HHS and the affected individuals. In response to the breach, the CE and BA implemented additional administrative, technical, and security safeguards to better protect PHI.
