OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Eastern Connecticut Health Network, reported that a workforce member sent an email disclosing the protected health information (PHI) of 912 individuals without utilizing the blind carbon copy function. The PHI involved included names and email addresses. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach the CE retrained the workforce member on email protocol and the requirement to protect and secure sensitive data.
