Phoenician Medical Center, Inc

The covered entity, Phoenician Medical Center, reported that its network was hacked and compromised by ransomware that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 163,532 individuals. The PHI involved included names, state identification, dates of birth, diagnoses, medications, health insurance information, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and provided substitute notice. In its mitigation efforts, the CE provided complimentary credit monitoring services and strengthened its administrative, technical, and security safeguards to better protect its sensitive data.
