OCR description
American National Group, the covered entity (CE), reported that it was the victim of a ransomware attack which compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 47,711 individuals. The PHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers. In response, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to enhance the security of PHI it maintains.
