OCR description
Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers, the covered entity (CE), reported that it experienced a cyber-attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 256,568 individuals. The PHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, diagnoses, and conditions. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards. OCR provided technical assistance regarding the HIPAA Rules.
