OCR description
Pause Pain & Wellness, the covered entity (CE), reported that an employee of its business associate (BA) emailed the protected health information (PHI) of 777 individuals to the wrong recipients. The PHI involved included names and email addresses. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE and BA implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards. Workforce members were retrained to better protect sensitive data.
