Mulkay Cardiology Consultants at Holy Name Medical Center, P.C.

The covered entity (CE), Mulkay Cardiology Consultants at Holy Name Medical Center, reported that it experienced a ransomware attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 79,582 individuals. The PHI involved in the incident included names, addresses, dates of birth, drivers’ license and Social Security numbers, claims information, diagnoses, lab results, medications, and other treatment information. In response to the breach, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to better protect its PHI. Staff were also retrained on the requirements to protect and secure PHI.
