OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Medical University of South Carolina, reported that its business associate (BA) sent an email that contained the protected health information (PHI) of 1,758 individuals to the wrong recipients. The PHI involved included names only. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. The employee involved was retrained.
