OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Mercy Medical Center, reported that its business associate (BA) experienced a cyber-attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 97,132 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, and treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. OCR provided technical assistance regarding the HIPAA Rules.
