OCR description
Risas Dental & Braces, the covered entity (CE), reported that it experienced a cyber-attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 618,189 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, clinical and financial information, and other identifiers. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and posted substitute notice on its website. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional technical safeguards to better protect and secure its sensitive data.
