OCR description
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, the covered entity (CE), reported that it experienced a cyberattack that affected the protected health information (PHI) 775,860 individuals. The PHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, drivers’ license and social security numbers, claims and financial information, diagnoses and conditions, lab results, medications, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, the affected individuals, and the media. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional technical safeguards.
