OCR description
Walgreen Company, the covered entity (CE) reported that a workforce member allowed two unauthorized individuals to access the protected health information (PHI) of 1,915 individuals. The PHI involved included demographic and clinical information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach and OCR’s investigation, the CE revised its policies and procedures, implemented additional technical safeguards, sanctioned the workforce member and retrained its workforce.
