OCR description
The covered entity (CE), University of Minnesota Board of Regents, reported that an employee was the subject of an email phishing attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 1,331 individuals. The PHI involved included names, email addresses, and other identifying information. The CE notified HHS, the affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to better protect its PHI. OCR provided technical assistance regarding the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
