OCR description
Cheasapeake Regional Information System for our Patients, the business associate (BA), reported that an employee made the protected health information (PHI) of 8,008 individuals viewable by unauthorized individuals. The PHI involved included diagnoses, medications, claims information, and other treatment information. The BA notified HHS and the affected individuals. In response to the breach, the BA implemented additional technical safeguards and retrained its staff to protect and secure PHI.
