OCR description
The covered entity (CE), VisionPoint Eye Center reported that it experienced a ransomware attach that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 66,926 individuals. The PHI affected included names, dates of birth, addresses, drivers’ license and Social Security numbers, financial information, and treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE offered complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services and implemented additional technical safeguards.
