OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Central Texas Pediatric Orthopedics, reported that it was the subject of a ransomware attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 140,000 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, x-ray images, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and posted substitute notice. In response to the breach, the CE implemented revised its information security policies and procedures and implemented new technical safeguards.
