OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Whitman County Public Hospital District No. 3, reported that it experienced a cyber-attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 63,453individuals. The PHI involved included clinical and demographic information. The CE notified HHS, the affected individuals, the media, and provided substitute notice. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional administrative, technical, and security safeguards to better protect its PHI. In addition, the CE retrained its workforce members to better protect its PHI.
