OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Iron County Medical Center, reported that several employees were the targets of an email phishing scheme that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 10,239 individuals. The PHI involved clinical, demographic, and financial information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE implemented new technical safeguards and additional security awareness training to better protect its electronic PHI.
