OCR description
The covered entity (CE), Western Skies Wellness, LLC, reported that it texted the protected health information (PHI) of 1,700 individuals to the wrong recipients. The PHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, drivers’ license numbers, cell phone numbers, medical conditions, medications, and treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media and provided substitute notice. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional administrative, technical, and security safeguards.
