CVE-2024-12133Libtasn1: inefficient der decoding in libtasn1 leading to potential remote dos

Updated under an hour ago ()

Does this affect you?

It affects Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 21 other products. Add what you run to find out whether that includes you.

No exploitation reported and no EPSS estimate yet.

A flaw in libtasn1 causes inefficient handling of specific certificate data. When processing a large number of elements in a certificate, libtasn1 takes much longer than expected, which can slow down or even crash the system. This flaw allows an attacker to send a specially crafted certificate, causing a denial of service attack.

The CVE record is authoritative. Products marked “from the name” were identified from the CNA's free-text names, not a CPE, and are matched less certainly. This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.
