CVE-2021-28153An issue was discovered in GNOME GLib before 2.66.8.

Updated under an hour ago ()

Does this affect you?

It affects Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 CPU 1518-4 PN/DP MFP and 6 other products. Add what you run to find out whether that includes you.

No exploitation reported and no EPSS estimate yet.

An issue was discovered in GNOME GLib before 2.66.8. When g_file_replace() is used with G_FILE_CREATE_REPLACE_DESTINATION to replace a path that is a dangling symlink, it incorrectly also creates the target of the symlink as an empty file, which could conceivably have security relevance if the symlink is attacker-controlled. (If the path is a symlink to a file that already exists, then the contents of that file correctly remain unchanged.)

The CVE record is authoritative. Products marked “from the name” were identified from the CNA's free-text names, not a CPE, and are matched less certainly. This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.
